This attractive, open-air discount hamlet, nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside and only about an hour’s drive from London. Bicester Village boasts more than 130 outlet boutiques of British and international brands including Burberry, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander Mcqueen, Jimmy Choo, Prada… all heavily discounted. No wonder the Duchess of Cambridge is a fan.

2.     Topshop

The High Street retailer has been quietly offering discounted products to fashion lovers in North London. Out in the sticks in the Northern Line’s zone five, the Topshop out let store is a schlep. Like the most outlet stores, most of the stock is from past seasons. If you make the effort you’ll find bargains. Worth a look if you’re in the area.

3.     Burberry Factory Outlet

Attracting one million Burberry fans and discerning shoppers a year from all over the world, the Burberry outlet in Hackney is a must-visit place. Very organized shop, clean and tidy. It is home to Burberry’s factory shop where you can buy Burberry designer clothes and accessories for discounted prices of up to one third of what you would pay on the High Street.

4.     Pringle of Scotland

Right next door to the Burberry Factory Shop. The heritage fashion and accessories brand made luxury knitwear and beautiful leather goods for international celebrities and royalty alike. Come on Wednesdays: it’s delivery day.

Possibily London’s best designer outlet, the new Aquascutum shop is full of brilliant buys. Latin for “water shield”, Aquascutum’s waterproof designs will be useful to anyone exposed to the capricious London weather. Head here for sharp suits, classics macs and perfect knits at up 30 percent off – a luxury cardigan in soft cashmere is just £70. Orderly displays, lots of sizes, comfortable changing rooms – but with far more palatable price tags.

6.     London Designer Outlet

London Designer Outlet, located in the shadow cast by Wembley Stadium, is bargain city, it is the Mecca of outlet stores and might even rival Bicester Village for discounts. The shops all offer discounts of up to 70 per cent off current season and end-of-season lines, drawing shoppers into an area of London best known for its sporting and music venues.
